Many creators and businesses are uncertain about how to effectively protect their creative works in Vietnam. Although copyright protection arises automatically upon creation, without an official copyright registration certificate, it may be more difficult to prove ownership, assert rights, or enforce protection in the event of infringement or dispute—even though legal protection technically exists.
The regulatory process, documentation requirements, and interaction with authorities can still be complex and resource-intensive. This becomes more challenging when different categories of works require different approaches.
Therefore, we support clients through the entire copyright registration process with the Copyright Office of Vietnam, from assessing eligibility and preparing application documentation to submitting dossiers and liaising with authorities until completion.
Our service covers a broad range of works, including literary and artistic works, musical works, photographic works, applied art and design works, architectural works, computer software and databases, and other forms of copyrightable creations recognized under Vietnamese law.
Once a complete application is submitted, the Copyright Office will review the dossier and, if valid, issue a Copyright Registration Certificate. Under the Vietnamese law, the process at the authority is within 15 working days from acceptance. However, due to the heavy workload of the authority from time to time, typically, the actual process may take much longer, around 3 months in a smooth case.

(i) Details information of the author(s) and copyright owner (ID card of individuals, and Enterprises Registration Certificate of enterprises);
(ii) 02 Copies of the work;
(iii) Documents proving ownership of copyright;
(iv) Written consent of co-authors, co-owners (if there are any co-authors/co-owners);
(v) Written consent from the individual if the work contains images of the individual;
(vi) Signed application forms (in our form).
